Former Cancer Biology T32 Trainee Marina Sharifi recently gave a Badger Talk on research conducted in her laboratory related to “Breakthroughs in Personalized Breast Cancer Treatment”. Dr. Sharifi is now an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine (Division of Hematology, Oncology, and Palliative Care) at UW-Madison. The physician-scientist’s laboratory “co-developed a liquid biopsy approach that allows them to measure cancer gene expression in addition to cancer DNA changes, giving them unique insights into how cancer cells are evolving in patients as they receive treatment”. Dr. Sharifi’s clinical practice is dedicated to breast cancer medical oncology. This Badger Talk is available at: Breakthroughs in Personalized Breast Cancer Treatment
